Makiyaki - Kingston Description

Makiyaki with its striking black and white façade specialises in Japanese food. The interior of this little restaurant is somewhat dark and dated but the food is reasonably priced and offers a good variety of flavours. Classic dishes such as soya bean soup, grilled fish with noodle broth and the usual sashimi and sushi dishes are all listed. In addition there's also the likes of deep fried skewers of seafood with a thick soy sauce, or deep-fried oysters, whilst the a la carte nigiri sushi includes sea urchin and octopus.

Love this restaurant! So hard to find a good quality Japanese restaurant that makes really good sushi. Delicious and fresh, highly recommended!

Excellent choice of sashimi, sushi and noodles! Service was good and quick. This place has now become my top Japanese restaurant and has by far the best I have eaten. I would strongly recommend everyone to give this place a try. They do offer value for money, lunch box bento as well except for Monday and Sunday. I would definitely have my weekly Japanese food here.
