Mango Room Description

Caribbean style cool comes to Camden at this fun loving restaurant on Kentish Town Road. The Mango Room effuses an easy going atmosphere and is a great place to bring visiting friends to experience the Caribbean warmth, some vintage reggae, fabulous cocktails and eclectic cooking styles from the island.

All the West Indian favourites like salt cod fritters and Creole snapper fillets always remain on the menu, which could be teamed with rice and peas or plantain. There's also the traditional, if rather infamous, curried goat with scallions, glazed carrots, potatoes and Caribbean spices, and finish with Jamaican rum flambéed bananas with cinnamon ice cream and maple syrup. Lunchtime treats include marinated ebony wings, grilled chicken breast and baby spinach leaves with wok-fried pineapple.

The Mango Room is also happy to host parties and has a specially designed menu to suit any occasion, and pre-ordering is not mandatory.

Jamaican Princess (19 April 2004)

I went once with my sister, because we are both used to the real authentic Jamaican cooking, it was quite 'white washed', I give it a 10/5.
