Marco Pierre White Steakhouse & Grill at Lanes Description

Currently the talk of the town this lively restaurant right in the heart of the City is defying the doom and gloom with typical MPW panache and verve, well supported by James Robertson, the founder of Lanes. With two AA rosettes on the wall it already has a reputation of which to be proud.

A steakhouse it remains and those same mouth-watering dishes are still at the forefront, added to by the deft touch of MPW's that smack of the comfort dishes one associates with a quality brasserie. A rigorous approach to the quality and freshness of ingredients ensures a British background, with beef in particular naturally reared and traditionally matured to give the best flavour.

Expect to find asparagus and champagne soup, lobster and vanilla spaghetti, steamed bream with squid ink taliatelle, mussel and clam broth and rice pudding with apple and rhubarb compote, as well as warm welcome and impeccable service.

Great meal with clients, good vibe at lunch, fast service, polite staff, very good steaks and a nice wine list. We'll be back.

I couldn't disagree more with Helen. I went for dinner with friends and had a fabulous time. We dined from the a la carte and had great food trying steaks, fish and also some of the daily specials that I think may have been on the set menu too. All were well conceived, executed and substantial. The wine list was very impressive but also with a lot of choice at the lower end too. Brilliant maître d' and very charming smiley staff rounded off a very good night out. I did love the room.
