Maria's Cafe and Italian Restaurant, located in the heart of Old Towne Petersburg, is an old fashioned, family run Sicilian restaurant. A spacious dining area and minimalist furniture keep the interior noticeably uncomplicated and possibly the only contradictions to this are the art deco paintings titivating the walls and a few figurines on the bar.

Truly aimed to maintain the authentic taste of the cuisine, Maria's café has a menu designed to include many recipes brought directly from Italy. The appetizers encompass a selection of soups and salads whilst delectable starters such as cozze scoppiate, sautéed mussels in garlic herb butter and bruschetta, toasted Italian bread topped with tomatoes, fresh basil, garlic and extra virgin olive oil, also feature on the carte. For those with a sweet tooth, a chocolate coated pastry shell filled with a mix or ricotta sweet cream could be perfect to round off the meal. A passionately complied wine list gives suitable accompaniment to the Sicilian indulgence.
