Market

43 Parkway, London, NW1 7PN

Market's interior of exposed brickwork and plain wooden chairs may look like your usual, non-fussy type of place, but the sight of locals enjoying deliciously cooked food is a testament to the growing popularity of this little bistro. Chef Dan Spence supports the fact the dishes created from fresh, seasonal and local ingredients and sure to fascinate diners and more so at the Market as the cooking is resolutely English, uncomplicated yet satisfying. A salad of chicory, anchovy, eggs and crunchy golden croutons make a fantastic introduction, or perhaps scallops with parsnip mash and hazelnut butter. This could be followed by braised rabbit with white beans and smoked sausage, and whole lemon sole, also keep an eye open for daily blackboard specials that could include faggots with mushy peas.
