Thin crispy batter on fresh moist tasty fish with the chips cooked just right. Had to wait while all food cooked to order yum yum

After a long bracing walk along the seafront at Southwold, I could have eaten a horse but decided on fish and chips instead. Not expecting too much from the unprepossessing exterior I dropped in to Mark's but soon had any misgivings dispelled by the cleanliness and industry of this wee goldmine of a chip shop. Suffice to say that the chips were crisp and very hot and the freshly fried fish was still wriggling and perfectly cooked in a delightfully light batter. What a find - indeed the meal was so fresh that the evaporating vinegar vapour brought tears to my glass eye. A fantastic serendipity - you simply got to try it.
