If you are visiting Stratford upon Avon then you really owe it to yourselves to pay a visit to Marlowe's Restaurant. Situated on the High Street, it is accessed by a doorway and passage that leads to stone steps. Climb these steps to arrive at a patio area with tables, at this point one may be a little disappointed but step through the door into the restaurant and you step into a unique setting. You are met by wonderful oak beams, log fire and lovely 'olde worlde' surroundings, indeed you can imagine yourself sitting alongside William Shakespeare himself. I visited with my daughter for Saturday lunch and I found the service and the food to be excellent, appetising, full of flavour and well cooked. The menu was indeed well thought out and was a credit to the owners Mike and Diane Carver. If you are disabled as I am then the stairs may be somewhat off putting but the effort is well worth it, give it a try, I think you will have a wonderful meal and be able to bask in the marvellous surroundings.
