Marshmallow, The Description
Pretty Moreton-in-Marsh dates back a thousand years to the Saxon era, and though it is a thriving market town today, restaurants such as The Marshmallow Tea Rooms give people a chance to go back in time and enjoy the simpler joys of life.
The charming little place is run by Alan Cutler and Sally Ann, and offers the perfect ambience for relaxation. Turquoise tablecloth and fresh flowers on each table give the restaurant a warm and welcoming ambience, but in good weather the terrace with its overhead climbing plants, Cotswold flagstones and summery furniture is a great place to relax.
The menu offers British teatime classics such as toasted teacakes, crumpets, scones with clotted cream and delicious strawberry jam. In 2009, the tearoom was awarded the Tea Guild Award for Excellence for fantastic tea choices.
Chef Alan Cutler's lunch and dinner menu offers simple homemade dishes such as smooth chicken liver pâté with Cumberland sauce, and local pork and chive sausages with mash and onion gravy. Hot and cold pudding specials and gateaux are served from the dessert trolley.

Your Reviews of Marshmallow, The

I ate at the Marshmallow last night and I cannot believe that there was not a queue at the door for an amazing treat that was our meal. It’s been a couple of years since we were hear last and had fond memories of good quality fare and again we were not disappointed. The menu is simple and includes cottage pie, lasagne, sausage and mash with onion gravy. Specials were French onion soup, pork hock and lamb shank. The lamb shank fell of the bone and melted in the mouth, the sausages were rustic and incredible in flavour. Let me know where else you can get this quality of cooking for under a tener. I will be going back as often as possible and the service is warm and friendly, catering for our every need. The wine was delightful and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

The Marshmallow is our favourite restaurant, for very obvious reasons: The ambience is friendly and warm, the menu is excellent and the service is top class. We do not mind travelling the 10 miles from Great Rollright to Moreton-in-Marsh in order to enjoy a meal or coffee and a treat at our favourite destination. Thank you to you all!
