Max's Sea Grill

The Royal York has had a very impressive history of hosting some of society's most respected ladies and gentlemen since it opened its doors as a hotel in 1819. A recent renovation has helped restore this splendid destination to its former glory. The bar and lounge areas pay tribute to the novelists and statesmen of the time while the more relaxed glamour of the Edwardian days can be seen in the bedrooms.

Max's Sea Grill will appeal to anyone who likes flavoursome, locally sourced food, served in a relaxed but elegant setting. The seasonal menu features whole pieces of the freshest fish that could consist of halibut, squid, lemon sole and sea bass served char-grilled, steamed or battered. Each main course is complemented by a choice of side orders encompassing French fries, salads and new potatoes, while a selection of sauces enable customers to create their own exciting dishes.

Meats including the hotels signature Sussex lamb skewers are available for those having a non-fish day.
