Mayur Indian Restaurant Description

Healthy eating is the central tenet at Mayur Indian Restaurant on Duke Street, so any pre-conceived notion that Indian food is unhealthy can be left at the door. No expense has been spared to do up the interior filled with designer furniture and gleaming chandeliers.

A large part of the cooking focuses on tandoor oven where bread, fish, meat and game are cooked the North West Indian way, so you could laugh off calorie counting; but dishes promising regional cuisine in the specials menu should not be missed either. Grilling and griddling is treated with much respect, as are chef's gourmet dishes like bater do piyaza, tender quails marinated in yogurt, pot-roasted in a masala with an abundance of onions and crushed dry mango. Lamb dishes rely on the comforting rogan josh formula while chicken goes the jalfrezi way.

Going by the number of Indian families at Mayur Indian Restaurant, this production certainly deserved plaudits for innovation and authenticity.
