Meadow, The Description
The Meadow is situated in Hove, adjacent to the famous Clock Gardens; it is somewhere that you can enjoy a relaxed friendly atmosphere, with British Cuisine at the forefront of the menu, influenced by French and Italian cooking techniques. It was recently awarded two AA rosettes and now has an on site farm shop selling local and homemade produce.
Seasonal produce is sourced directly from small farms and local suppliers and all dishes are produced on the premises as well as homemade breads and pastries. Commendably the menu features some of the finest rare breed meats such as the Longhorn cow and the Middle White pig, as well as fish sourced from the local coastline.

What a disappointment! Uninspiring dishes of miniscule size served on large plates. I think the chefs mentor Marcus Waring would have been equally disappointed with his protégé on this occasion. The waitress took our order for a selection of ice creams and house special desserts and then came back to advise us that they were unavailable as the freezers had broken down. Wasn’t she informed of this before the customers arrived? - Robin, a chef with 52 years of experience, now retired.

I visited the Meadow just before Christmas and had a thoroughly enjoyable lunch. We opted for the lunchtime special menu, which proved to be very good value for money. Looking forward to my return visit soon!
