Melati Restaurant
21 Great Windmill Street, London, W1D 7LB
Melati transports you from the madness of nearby Piccadilly Circus into an oasis of calm, with the added bonus of a fabulous mix of Malaysian and Indonesian cuisine. The restaurant is comprised of three floors, arranged in a classically elegant style that makes for a very enjoyable dining environment. Chicken satay and prawn dumplings, followed by deliciously spicy and very filling laksa and a great variety of other noodle based dishes, accompanied by a good wine list including a house red and white priced at under a tenner a bottle, makes Melati excellent value for such a central location. REVIEWS OF Melati Restaurant
Paul teo (17 December 2007)
Fantastic authentic malaysian food. Just got back from malaysia, and Melati's brings back great memories.
Jason Cross (11 November 2006)
I went to Melati with a couple of relatives who are vegetarian. Unlike most places there was a HUGE range to choose from. We had veggie sate (believe it or not it actually tastes good). Chilli prawns, hot and sour seafood soup to start. For mains we shared some fried rice and fried noodles (not sure what they are called), with red snapper in chilli sauce and soft shell crabs.
The food was outstanding. Loads of variety, there’s a couple of hundred dishes on the menu. The venue is homely and the staff seemed polite and efficient. I'd recommend it to anyone, can't wait to go back and try the meat dishes!
