Melur in Edgware Road presents guests with a unique setting, reflecting the sensibilities of its proprietors Sam Wong, originally from Kuala Lumpur, and her French husband Sébastien Gimenez. At their restaurant guests can sample the finest examples of Malaysian cuisine which are presented with a touch of Gallic flair.

Diners can discover for themselves the rich diversity on offer. You could get cracking with a mixed platter of mixed satay, king prawn fritters, prawn sesame toast, spicy chicken crisp, spring roll and prawn crackers. Or choose traditional favourites such as tofu sumbat, deep-fried bean curd with sliced cucumber and bean sprouts, or sambal udang, stir-fried prawns with chilli paste. The house specialties include Singapore laksa, char kway teow and mee goreng mamak, noodle dishes with a variety of ingredients, in addition to a selection of spicy fish, lamb and chicken curries. To finish, consider bubur cha cha, sweet potato, yam and sago pearls with coconut milk. Cocktails, wine and Tiger beer moderate the influence of the spices.
