Memories of India

18 Gloucester Road, London, SW7 4RB

There is a kind of certainty that one will always eat well at Memories of India and it is a comforting thought, especially if you are in a state of near-exhaustion after spending the day at the nearby Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Palace or the National History Museum. The restaurant's minimalist touches have drawn in a truly appreciative clientele, here there is none of the decorative clutter that sometimes abound in Indian restaurants, and the relatively narrow dining space leads to a conservatory style seating area at the rear. A diner's eye is naturally drawn to the tandoori selection and those who want a little bit of it all could try the maharaja mixed grill of tandoori chicken, chicken and lamb tikka, lamb chops and seekh kebabs.

Fish lovers might prefer a sylheti fisher folk style curry, or king prawn bhuna simmered in a medium hot sauce with fresh spices, onions, tomatoes and capsicum. Finish with some super sweet creations like gulab jamun, milk dumplings soaked in sweet syrup.

REVIEWS OF Memories of India

Monty (19 February 2007)

I would like to take time out and tell everyone about the Memories of India Restaurant in Thornbury Road in Osterley, Middlesex.

We had a family meal yesterday 18th Feb in the evening. There was a group of twelve. The restaurant was welcoming in both the décor and the mannerism of the staff. The food was authentic and very tasty and the flavours were balanced to tantalise your taste buds.

To top it all the staff were pleasant and very attentive to all our needs. I would like to congratulate Mr Ubed Khan and all the staff for making our evening very enjoyable. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good food in a pleasant environment.

Avihood Cohen (20 July 2004)

As a person who admires Indian food I've eaten at this restaurant a couple of times and I would recommend it to everyone who’s looking for Indian food in London. The service was great as well as the food.
