MemSaab Description
If you're in Nottingham and wish to visit an elegant restaurant that offers tasty Indian food at reasonable prices, few other places could be better than the popular MemSaab. The tastefully done up, spacious interior balances modern design with traditional Indian craftsmanship.
Relax with a drink in the bar area or spend time sampling the flavoursome and well presented food that has helped MemSaab become the best Indian restaurant at the Nottingham Restaurant Awards 2008 for the fourth consecutive year.
Special ingredients and spices are selected to provide a distinctive taste to each dish. Consider starters of Lahori lamb chops, tandoori ostrich, salmon tikka, and tian of potato and asparagus cake, served with sweet tomato chutney, and move on to mains of nalli gosht or lamb shanks, Goan fish curry, a rich jalfrezie of king prawns with mixed peppers, cumin and plenty of green chillies, or char-grilled chicken breast. Naan bread and rice accompany the food you order.
Desserts take in rasmalai or Indian milk patties, pistachio flavoured kulfi ice cream and warm carrot pudding.
Fixed Dinner

Your Reviews of MemSaab

I visited MemSaab on a Saturday and was fairly impressed. We went for the set menus, there were ten of us, and the staff told us if we ran out of food they would bring more. They also threw in some vegetable curries for free. The food was spot on. Being from Birmingham I know the difference between a good curry and a bad curry. This was a good curry and the starter was amazing. I would definitely go again. It wasn't expensive with £30 and that was with a couple of pints of Kingfisher. This place probably wouldn't impress people who like kormas or a greasy mess after 10 pints of lager though. It was a restaurant serving authentic Asian food, not the kind most 'Indian' restaurants serve. My verdict is a 9/10.

I visited Memsaab on a Saturday in May 2009 to celebrate my 14th birthday with my mum and dad. We have been there on a number of occasions. The food was wonderful and the service was brilliant, very friendly staff. I have told my friends about this restaurant and cannot wait to go back in August for my dad's birthday.
