It is simply the very best fish and chips that I have tasted in the UK. The service from the waitresses is also top notch. Foreigners teaching us Brits to smile and enjoy the simple food on offer! No other place in Hastings or the south coast can beat The Mermaid.

What can I say about Mermaid Café that has not been written in other articles? While visiting my family in Hastings, I always look forward to eating there and enjoying the atmosphere, but most of all the great fish and chips. There are other things on the menu to serve all appetites. The fish is fresh and caught from the sea opposite. Take time to sit outside, never mind the seagulls that surround the place, and watch the world go by. Now I realise how much I missed the place since moving away.
