Named after the fishing region in South Vietnam, where the family that owns the restaurant are from, and situated at two locations across London, Mien Tay is a destination for Vietnamese cuisine in the City. It's possible that the unadorned entrance and the unfussy décor misleads you to underestimate the merits of the restaurant, but this modest appearance is what creates a pleasant and welcoming ambiance, making it a relaxed place to enjoy a hearty meal with family and friends.

The kitchen buzzes with activity as fresh and excellent seafood dishes such as squid with chili, salt and pepper, steamed scallops with crispy garlic and char grilled prawn wrapped around sugarcane are brought to the table. For those who like to keep it light, fragrant phos, lotus root salad with tofu and fresh green papaya salad with prawns are some of the delectable options to hand.

Amongst desserts fried banana and rainbow drink mung beans, gelatinous seaweed and coconut milk are worth trying.
