Bookings are not accepted at Mildred's, instead they operate on a more relaxed first come first served basis and the advice is to avoid 7.30 to 8.30pm as this is a deservedly popular place. Mildred's is a vegetarian restaurant with plenty of vegan dishes too denoted by a V on the menu. Highlights include panfried cherry tomato, halloumi and wilted spinach and mushroom, porcini and ale pie with mushy peas and fries. Prices are great value allowing you to indulge in one of their excellent desserts without breaking the bank.Vegetarian

We had a super evening, didn't have to wait long for a table, good wine, veggie sausage and mash was a dream, and excellent service. We were in London for a few days from Yorkshire, will be back soon.

This restaurant is great if you're clear what you're going for. Maybe this is why it garners quite a few negative reviews. On the plus side, the food is nice, not exceptional but pleasant and the staff are very attentive despite being very busy. The flip side is that you cannot book, but will have to wait in the corridor or bar where you are likely to be in the way. However once you get your table, it is well worth it and is reasonable on the wallet too.
