Here is a welcome addition to the plethora of eating houses that keeps body and soul together in the still racy corner of the south coast that is Brighton. Hanging baskets and wooden tables and floors give a Mediterranean atmosphere, hyped up in the evening with soft lights, and often music.

Formerly a vegetarian restaurant the word now seems to have got around that times they are a'changing and in the evenings carnivores are to be seen tucking into traditional dishes as well as the vegetarian dishes for which the premises were formerly so well-known.

Expect to encounter red mullet stuffed with fennel and served with olives and green beans, salmon steaks with herb butter dressing and leaf spinach. Follow with sticky toffee pudding and ice cream, or some of the excellent cheese options served singly or as a selection.
