Mondo Description
Mondo brings classical Italian cuisine to Weybridge in a warm and friendly atmosphere. In its previous avatar, it was known as Casa Romana and was very popular with the locals as well as those who happened to be visiting. The present chefs have retained that flair and touch which has tempted many a diner to go back and indulge in their delightful fare.
If brunch is the main meal of your day, then do try not to miss the smoked salmon and prawn open sandwich or the warm chicken and avocado roll for a zesty beginning. Come lunchtime and you could select a grilled bruschetta with sautéed chicken liver, sweet red peppers and red onions before moving on to the pan fried calves' liver with mashed potatoes and sage. Pastas are noteworthy while traditional desserts such as vanilla pannacotta with mixed berries or tiramisu are delectable treats.

Having been to the Casa Romana some time ago, we decided to try the New Mondo. It was an experience we would like to repeat. The food quality, service and ambience were the way restaurants used to be. Little touches like napkin rings and home made petit fours made for an exceptional experience. The food was perfect and we had an excellent evening. We’ll return very soon.

As a regular of twenty years at Casa Romana which I rated as the best Italian restaurant in the area, I was disappointed to see it change. A midweek visit to Mondo just after it opened was very average and I decided to let it settle down before I went back.Four of us went for the buffet Sunday lunch on 24th Feb 2008 and it was fantastic. The starters were mainly seafood and were some of the best I have ever had. The traditional main course was very good and the sweet trolley was superb. We have rebooked!
