This stalwart of Montpelier Street continues to draw in satisfied customers who've been dining there for many a year as well as those that have just been browsing through Harrods located nearby, or just about anyone who is looking for a classic Italian meal in this part of Knightsbridge. The trappings of contemporary-fresh are in evidence everywhere; a sculptured sliding glass roof and a plethora of plants at the lower level, and hoards of autographed famous faces on the walls of the upper floor.

The cooking follows a no-frills, Italian style, and wild mushrooms sautéed in olive oil and garlic, or avocado with either crab or prawns make for a flavourful welcome. Pasta should not be easily passed up as there are choices like tagliatelle with salmon and spinach, and paglia e fieno with ham, peas, mushrooms and cream. Just as pleasing are the selection of main courses such as chicken supreme valdostana with ham and cheese, and small beef fillets with green pepper sauce.

The wine list mostly looks to Italy for inspiration and there's also the exciting prospect of tasting some masterpieces from the Bertani house, a special selection from Montpeliano's inner cave.
