MU Restaurant and Cocktail Bar

MU, described by Hardens 2008 Guide as "superbly creative fusion cuisine, an undiscovered jewel", wins accolades in all the major restaurant guides, including often featuring in Zagat's Top 40 for both food and service, a Rosette award winning Restaurant and a main listing in The Good Food Guide which rates the cuisine as "good to very good".

MU Bar has an equally high reputation for serving some of the best cocktails in London. These accolades reflect the quality of the cuisine, which defies most attempts to place it in the usual categories but can certainly be said to derive from the best.

Whilst it is completely separate in many ways, MU is actually sited in the 4* Deluxe Millennium Knightsbridge Hotel, which is conveniently situated for all the excellent shopping in Sloane Street.

Rooms have a modern and elegant fashion theme, in keeping with the fashionable location of the hotel. En suite facilties have a bath and shower, air conditioning, phone, voicemail, modem point and international power sockets amongst the host of modern and traditional facilities that one expects to find in a top class hotel. And the views over London from the large windows are spectacular. To have this sort of comfort in the heart of 'Shopping London' makes the whole trip so much more enjoyable.

MU has launched a completely different approach to Modern European fine cuisine. The a la carte dinner menu provides a fine selection of dishes that demonstrate well the range of the cuisine and Chef de Cuisine, Paul Knight?s signature style offers innovation that combines flavours and techniques from around the World.

A typical à la carte meal could take its pick from amongst seven dishes, to include salad of smoked eel with beetroot tartar and Black Forest bacon, or cappuccino of Parish mushroom with confit duck and foie gras samosa. Main courses reflect a polished balance between the various main ingredients, with pan-fried fillet of John Dory with choucroute, sautéed potatoes and artichokes jus lie, fillet of milk-fed veal, forest mushroom ravioli, crispy sweetbreads and creamed spinach, or a pearl barley risotto spring vegetables with wilted pea shoots.

Poached figs in Monbazillac with bitter orange yoghurt sorbet and cinnamon shortbread, or a rhubarb compote, green tea jelly and pink peppercorn tuile brings to a bravura conclusion a meal that has symmetry and design at its heart.

For the more adventurous there is Chef's Degustation menu, 5 courses for only £50 - a tasting menu created specially by, displaying some of the best of MU's cuisine. The full menus are available for tables of up to 8 people. MU is always delighted to welcome larger groups, for whom either the five course degustation menu or a la carte menu will be served.

Both the bar and the restaurant are available for exclusive use and there are also private dining rooms with a range of set menus. Their team prides itself on a flexible approach to special events, creating menus, cocktails and wine selections to suit the occasion and aiming to be perfect in every aspect of food, service and ambience.
