Mug House

Davy's, 1-3 Tooley Street, London, SE1 2PF

An atmospheric setting, under the last remaining arch of the original London Bridge, sets the Mug House apart. A traditional Davy's wine bar and alehouse on Tooley Street, the Mughouse serves an extensive range of draught beers and local ales, including Meantime from Greenwich, accompanied by a traditional British cuisine menu.   The establishment gets its name from the traditional pewter tankards used to serve the house ale Davy's Old Wallop. The menu continues the traditional theme with classic dishes of beer battered fillet of pollock with minted pea purée and hand-cut chips, sirloin steak with grilled tomato and French fries and home-made pie with creamy mash and gravy. More exotic fare includes warm chicken Caesar salad and beef Madras with basmati rice on the menu.

While desserts of cream filled profiteroles, sticky toffee pudding and fruit crumble with custard promise to end the meal on a happy note.

Unsurprisingly the wine list includes a number of high quality house wines, as well as popular whites and reds such as Signal Cannon Chenin Blanc, Mount Brown Sauvignon, Rioja Crianza and Bourgogne Rouge.
