Mulberry Street
84 Westbourne Grove, London, W2 5RT
For those who like their pizzas the size of tractor tyres, please look elsewhere. But somewhere in between there, through the normal to the skimpy flying dishes, a rather different pizza is to be found, and you could do much worse than start by a call to Mulberry Street where an average pizza makes 20 inches diameter, and no, I can't quote you in metric, and what does it matter anyway - it's real big, man. Toppings come in most of the familiar and much loved forms, and also beluga caviar should you be feeling that way. The delicacy of the crust is universally admired, lending an almost pancake texture, dare I say, to the dish. There are various stars of the show; meet the New York Hot, packed with pepperoni, fresh pepper, jalapeño and mozzarella, though the hotness is of an American strength rather than the ferocious brand I enjoyed recently at an establishment in the provinces that shall remain nameless.Toppings come in most of the familiar and much loved forms, and also beluga caviar should you be feeling that way. Lest it should be thought that nothing but pizzas inhabit the Mulberry Street let me extol the virtues of the many other dishes that are available for the nourishment of the sometimes quite picky inhabitants of Notting Hill, all with an impeccable connection, and well backed by a simple no-nonsense 10 bottle wine list.

REVIEWS OF Mulberry Street
FreeWheel22 (2 February 2011)
I thought that the ambiance was really nice, and the decor looks great and very much New York themed. It was busy while we were there, but luckily we didn't have to wait long for food which was great! We shared a huge 20" pizza between the three of us and it was more than enough - but we still took desserts which everyone enjoyed too. The service was great and our waitress made us laugh a couple of times which is always appreciated. All in it was around 15 quid each which I think is good value for good quality food. I will be back again soon.
