Murano by Angela Hartnett
20 Queen Street, London, W1J 5PP
Located in the heart of London's trendy Mayfair, in Queen Street, Murano serves contemporary Italian cuisine, reflecting chef patron Angela Hartnett's family roots. Not long after opening, the restaurant was awarded its first Michelin star. The chef's table offers up to 12 guests a ringside view into the working kitchen. Traditional to the core but reflecting the restaurant's food philosophy and modern sensibilities, the à la carte menu impresses with dishes such as sweetbreads with caramelised cauliflower purée and smoked maple dressing and monkfish slow cooked in squid ink with fregola risotto, lardons and sea kale. Other tasty options include red mullet with octopus caponata in a sherry vinaigrette and basil purée, duck with poached pear and hispi cabbage and lamb with celery purée and roasted artichokes.Located in the heart of London's trendy Mayfair, in Queen Street, Murano serves contemporary Italian cuisine, reflecting chef patron Angela Hartnett's family roots. Desserts of pistachio soufflé with warm chocolate sauce and macaroon, or deep-fried William pears with a salted caramel ice cream, sweet wine and vanilla will pamper the sweet tooth.

REVIEWS OF Murano by Angela Hartnett
Andrew Jones (4 February 2009)
Amazing! For our second wedding anniversary my wife and I booked Murano for lunch yesterday. We have eaten at some super places in the past in London, but this put the others in the shade. Only Passione on Charlotte Street run by Jamie's mentor Gerardo can come close. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special, valued and above all like they wanted to make sure we had the most enjoyable time. They simply excelled on all counts. Décor, ambience, attitude of staff, attentiveness, and attention to detail were all first rate. The food was also top notch. My wife's tuna was exquisitely prepared and tasted sublime. The wine was a 1991 Cote Du Rhone that was light and fruity and thus was a perfect partner to our stone bass main course on beans and spicy sausage. Desserts and cheese continued the theme of excellence and combined with a small intimate feel to the restaurant and waiters who smiled naturally; this was and will be forever a lunch to remember. Well done to Angela Hartnett and her team for helping make our anniversary so special.
