In the kitchen, Julian Marshall, for many years an executive sous at The Lanesborough under Paul Gaylor and then head chef at Mosimann's, has designed a menu that focuses on traditional recipes with a mixture of modernity and class, including delectable options such as baby gem and smoked chicken Caesar with garlic croutons and anchovies, or veal kidney with wholegrain mustard and dauphinoise potatoes.

Special features include the 'home dishes' designed with sharing in mind, such as simply roasted sea bream with herbs stuffing, carrots and leeks, confit of duck shepherd's pie with savoy cabbage or a whole roast garlic chicken with lemon confit; similarly with the puddings like chocolate mousse or English rhubarb trifle with sherry cream.

Not only does this make the whole experience a much more convivial one, it also helps to keep the cost down as generous portion size would suit four people normally.

Service, organised by the hugely experienced Olivier Lavigne du Cadet, is exemplary, and means that though My Dining Room comes under the wide-ranging heading of gastropub, it offers something that is genuinely different.

The wine list features organic and biodynamic wines, served by the glass or carafe, leaving you to try some unusual wine such as the Gamay d'Auvergne.

We go to this local restaurant several times. Every time we have pleasure there. The space is very stylish and atmosphere relaxed with smooth service. Their food is like homely kind of food, so the portions are big. On top of it, the meals are just so delicious. Highly recommended to everyone!

It was one of the best experiences of trying a new restaurant. I think it is one of the few places where you can actually fell free to order and no one is pushing you. A very relaxing atmosphere and a good glass of wine after a delicious dinner made me want to go back again. I wished I knew it before.
