Nar Bar and Grill
803 Fulham Road, London, SW6 5HE
It takes a brave person to open a new restaurant in the nether regions of the Fulham Road at the Putney Bridge end as it is a hugely competitive area, however, at Nar Bar and Grill Theo and Sami seem to have hit on a winning formula as we discovered during a highly pleasurable evening there. It is a relaxing sort of spot with a choice of sitting - and eating - at sofas in the front or by the bar, but we preferred the fractionally more formal tables and chairs at the far end. Highlights of our meal included crisp calamari with a citrus dip followed by a speciality of the house, a massive portion of beef ribs marinated in their superb homemade barbecue sauce and served with creamy mashed potatoes and vegetables, nicely julienned; these were so different to pork ribs, more like a cote de boeuf, with a huge amount of tender meat - definitely a dish to return there for.It takes a brave person to open a new restaurant in the nether regions of the Fulham Road at the Putney Bridge end as it is a hugely competitive area, however, at Nar Bar and Grill Theo and Sami seem to have hit on a winning formula as we discovered during a highly pleasurable evening there.

Whilst equally good was the tangy passion fruit pannacotta for dessert, perfectly judged, not too firm with the flavour of fruit strongly in evidence, a perfect pud to finish with. You could also visit for breakfast or a simple lunch, have a salad or burger, as their menu is an extremely well thought out and flexible one.
All this is accompanied by a carefully selected wine, beer and cocktail list and friendly helpful service, making every aspect of our meal there a thoroughly pleasurable experience, so do go and enjoy; it is worth noting that they have frequent special offers, so do call them and find out.
