Founded over 30 years ago, by the Saleh brothers, who moved to America from the mountainous region of northern Lebanon, Neomonde Mediterranean Cafe and Market started life in a small rented space at a Raleigh strip mall. Initially selling just a few types of breads, today it is a well sized café and store with some excellent artisan breads, sandwiches, pastries and rolls.

Deep rooted in tradition, Neomonde offers a wide variety of authentic dishes from the Lebanese-Mediterranean cuisine. Think freshly baked pita and breads stuffed with locally-grown tomatoes, crisp lettuce, pungent banana peppers and your choice of well spiced meat amongst sandwiches. If variety is what you are looking for, sampler platters that may include chicken, beef, or kafta kabobs, lightly crunchy falafel, smooth hummus and fatoush and pasta salads, is to hand.

Middle Eastern dessert delicacies are a delight to the senses with their sticky-sweet texture, rosewater fragrance, and light and luscious flavours. Baklava and basma are two classics among them, well worth trying.
