There is an interesting and very marked trend towards French cuisine in Manchester and here we have yet another exponent of the art. A French chef is always a good point from which to start, particularly when, as here, he takes a classic approach to his menu monitoring on the great proven dishes of one of the best cuisines in the world. As in so many small restaurants the atmosphere is intimate, a quality one tends to associate with hefty prices. Not so at New Bouchon, whose prices will encourage your appetite and calm your financial adviser. Take him for lunch and restore his confidence.
