Nicole's Restaurant & Bar
158 New Bond Street, London, W1S 2UB
On two levels, the restaurant is contemporary and minimal by design. The upper area, with a striking glass and bead blasted stainless steel bar, provides the setting for a quick, informal meal. A two-course bar menu is also served. The main dining area, which is on the lower level, sets the scene for a more leisurely dining experience, with an a la carte menu. Nicole's is open from 10:00 for breakfast, through to lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, though the times provided are for the main restaurant. Having first opened its doors in 1994, NICOLE'S restaurant continues to tempt London's most discerning food critics. Executive chef Annie Wayte has created modern European menus with influences from California, with an emphasis on fresh and seasonal ingredients. On two levels, the restaurant is contemporary and minimal by design. Having first opened its doors in 1994, NICOLE'S restaurant continues to tempt London's most discerning food critics. Executive chef Annie Wayte has created modern European menus with influences from California, with an emphasis on fresh and seasonal ingredients. Open from 10am, NICOLE'S also boasts a list of top quality wines from around the world, many of which are available by the glass, with house wine at £13.25.
Part of the flagship London store at 158 New Bond Street, a branch of Nicole's also opened in September 1999 in the first Nicole Farhi store in New York.
In the main restaurant dishes served can range from the simple and casual, like rare beef fillet with shaved mushroom and pecorino salad; smoked haddock chowder or pasta of the day, to the more complex such as grilled halibut with fennel gratin, organic leaf salad and salsa verde; braised sea bream and clams with Spanish chickpea and chorizo stew; and cardamom and ginger braised lamb shank with almond and sultana pilau, with aubergine compote.
They offer a choice of wonderful puddings ranging from bitter chocolate and apricot tart with crème fraiche, to steamed lemon and sultana pudding with blood oranges, or baked almond pears with mascarpone ice cream.
