An authentic Italian fine dining experience, complete with live piano is what diners can find at Nino's Tuscany on 58th Street, near 6th Avenue, Manhattan. The restaurant's classy decor, with its dark wood, painted murals of rural Tuscany and white linen tablecloths is matched by an excellent hand-picked menu and wine list, while pianist Irving Fields waits to regale you with unobtrusive standards from the Great American Songbook.

The dining experience begins with rustic antipasto such as trippa alla forentina, a traditional dish of tripe stewed with white wine, rosemary and parmigian or an assortment of Italian cured meats, pecorino cheese and crostini. The first course includes choices such as risotto ai fungi, wild mushroom risotto with shaved Tuscan pecorino, and linguine alle vongole, baby clams, olive oil, garlic, white wine and hot pepper flake. The main course spreads takes in salmone in crosta, zucchini-potato crusted salmon, tomato, Gaeta olive sauce and tomato emulsion, and grilled rib of veal chop, finished in a white truffle white wine sauce, on a bed of asparagus, topped with shaved truffles.

Chef specialities include the prime dry aged porterhouse steak or a classic osso bucco Milanese and are also well worth trying.
