Though minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street, the Nova Bar and Grill at the Sussex Hotel in Granville Place is an oasis of calm. Guests can relax in its stylish contemporary surroundings while deciding what to order from a modern European menu with an Oriental twist.
A sumptuous English breakfast of eggs the way you like them with Cumberland sausages, button mushrooms, sweet cure bacon, tomato, black pudding and baked beans sets you up nicely for the day. Other options range from pancakes with maple syrup to a three-egg omelette with cheese, tomato or ham. Equally tempting choices in the afternoon or evening include starters of Cornish crab soup, Devon farmed snails on toast with young vegetables and herb butter and Cumbrian air-dried cured ham with carrot and coriander salad. Follow with mains of pan roasted rump of Kent salt marsh spring lamb with garlic mash and minted red wine sauce, steamed sea bass fillet with Shetland mussels or pan fried calves liver with salad of Jersey royal potatoes and sprouting broccoli. Finish with delicious dessert of poached rhubarb syllabub, Bailey's burnt set cream or thin apple tart with vanilla ice cream.
