Number Twelve

The name surely reveals its location on 12 Upper Woburn Place, but it's the food that is indicative of Chef Santino Busciglio impressive pedigree, which includes a stint at the Michelin starred Zafferano. His cooking is just as Italian as his name, but having lived in the UK for more than 15 years, some British influences are palpable.

Seasonality and local sourcing is reflected on a menu that could suggest a warm salad of grilled English asparagus, spiced tomato, Parmesan and quails eggs for starters. Main courses feature roasted belly of middle white pork, Gressingham duck breast, and pan-fried fillet of bream with Sicilian caponata of fennel and cauliflower sauce. The dessert list is something of a paean to the famous Valrhona served two ways, as mousse and fondant with spiced vanilla syrup.
