Number Twenty Four Restaurant Description
It is always difficult to take over a highly successful restaurant, as it always tends to still be associated with the former proprietors, such was the case at Number Twenty Four, where Richard and Sue Hughes had done so well over many years.
However, Jonathan Griffin, who took over as chef/proprietor, has carried on seamlessly from where they left off, offering a three course menu of Modern British food, sourced from local ingredients, at £21 a head, very decent value for the quality.

I had a really lovely meal, could not fault it in any way, service was great, tables had plenty of space in between so you did not feel crowded and that all made for a lovely atmosphere. All the food was top notch and the chocolate cheesecake was to die for. The only thing to note is the prices for a three course meal has gone up to £24.75 but worth every penny. Would recommend to anyone.

Excellent on all three visits to date (May 2007) very relaxed - tables well spaced - efficient service - nice feel, and all this on top of superb food and a good choice of wines. I usually end up spending too much but I do always feel it's money well spent. Added bonus - I only live around the corner!
