Nusa Dua Restaurant Description

This tiny little restaurant on Dean Street has much to recommend it, making booking in advance of your visit a very wise idea. The colourful interior at Nusa Dua is certainly a talking point and the friendly staff are more than happy to provide you with a warm welcome. The best of the Indonesian menu is the rijsttafel, a selection of various different dishes allowing you to take a culinary tour of the Far East and give you a good insight into the diversity of the menu in time for your next visit.

I stumbled upon Nusa Dua Restaurant a few years ago and it has been my favourite eating place in London. This restaurant ticks all the right boxes for me. The staff are warm and friendly, food is delicious and varied and the atmosphere is chilled out. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the West End.

I booked a table for 12 at the Nusa Dua for lunch as one of my colleagues is about to leave the office. Most of us chose from the 2 course lunch menu, while one of our party chose from the main menu. The two staff were very attentive to any of our requests and the service was extremely prompt. They worked hard to ensure that we were well looked after and dashed around the restaurant to ensure other clientele were seated without fuss. Their service and manners were impeccable, which is a hearty commendation – one which should be emulated by other local restaurants more often. In short, their cheerful attitude and smiling faces improved the spirits of the 12 grumpy old men sitting around the table.

This is the forth time that I’ve had a meal at the Nusa Dua, in the heart of Soho, but the others have been in the evening. I have to say that lunch here is as good as the evening meals. The first course was a clear soup which was piping hot, spicy and tasted delicious. This was quickly followed by a starter. I ate the Sate – two skewers of tasty marinated chicken with a lovely peanut sauce that complimented it so well. I’ve eaten Indonesian food all over the place, so can say that the Sate served at the Nusa Dua is probably the best I’ve had anywhere. The house wine at £10:50 was a nice red Merlot that was fine for the dozen of us.

For the main course we chose a diverse range from their menu, which has six starters and 14 main courses. I ate the Ayam Panggang which is another chicken dish, but tasted so different from the Sate. This was served with delicious basmati rice and small salad. It was scrumptious! Following the meal, we finished with coffee or jasmine tea and a chocolate mint. When you consider that at a cost of £6.95 (excluding wine) the lunch menu must be the greatest value in Soho. For 12 of us the bill came to about £152, or less than £13 each and that included the wine – a bargain! I notice that this web site has incorrect pricing but
