This contemporary restaurant boasts simple canteen style tables with bench seating and soft pastel colours that provide a soothing ambiance. The menu is based on Japanese cuisine but many other oriental flavours also get listed here too. The Japanese dumplings are both tasty and filling, as are the varied noodle dishes. There's also plenty of sushi to choose from and staff are happy to advise on menu choice. We keep going back to Oishii. We love their chilli peppercorn squid, though it is better eaten in the restaurant, not via takeaway. The restaurant is managed to satisfy the picky appetites of my ten year old nephew with sushi and the aforementioned squid, my picky parents seafood fried rice and crispy duck and us too - a feat indeed!

I lived in Japan for a couple of years, so know my Japanese food quite well. I ordered one of my "comfort foods", katsudon, which when it came was a tasteless bit of chicken (not pork!) on some unflavoured rice, with no egg sauce in sight. I should have sent it back, however, I have never been back.
