Old Crown Public House, The

33 New Oxford Street, London, WC1A 1BH

Amidst the incessant noise and bustle of London's West End it comes as a refreshing surprise to find this oasis of calm and quality on New Oxford Street. The Old Crown Public House is a very personal place in that the team here own, designed, built and live in it. This almost medieval concept of running an eating house works brilliantly. Amidst such elegantly traditional surroundings the customary extensive range of libations, including excellent beers like Spitfire seem thoroughly at home, and Continental bottled beers also get a look in. A wine list of distinction is quite sufficient to ensure that return to your place of work after lunch can only be a matter of some doubt. Talking of lunch a great selection of dishes await such as pan-fried steak sandwich, battered Whiting fillets and rack of lamb.

REVIEWS OF Old Crown Public House, The

Jane (12 January 2010)

I booked one of the rooms upstairs for my birthday over the weekend. It was the perfect place for a few friends to have drinks, food and good times near the fire. Very unpretentious feeling and chilled out vibe. The food was yummy too!

Emily Fisher (6 August 2009)

I went to the Old Crown for a friend’s birthday some weeks ago to have lunch. The service was excellent and the staff were very nice. This restaurant has a wide range of food including vegan food. The place had a good atmosphere, very friendly and soft. We spent a good time there that day, really nice.
