Old Etonian, The
36-38 High Street, Harrow On The Hill, HA1 3LL
In the pristine surroundings of Harrow on the Hill, just ten minutes from central Harrow is The Old Etonian, a charming hotel where you can stop over for a weekend getaway or even longer, and enjoy the many delights they offer. Rooms are furnished excellently while their restaurant serves as a focal point for many to come together for a freshly prepared delicious meal. Guests can also bask on the terrace and take in the spectacular views as they dine al fresco on days when the weather is friendly. The restaurant menu changes frequently to reflect what is in season, but typically you might expect a fresh Mediterranean twist to the meal, which could begin with fresh crab meat, avocado and mango mayonnaise followed by veal escalope with marsala wine and cream. In the pristine surroundings of Harrow on the Hill, just ten minutes from central Harrow is The Old Etonian, a charming hotel where you can stop over for a weekend getaway or even longer, and enjoy the many delights they offer. Fish dishes are also excellent with the pan fried fillets of Dover sole with smoked salmon, parsley and lemon sauce. Crepes suzette for dessert is a perfect way to finish the meal on a sweet note.

REVIEWS OF Old Etonian, The
Frank (1 June 2008)
The Old Etonian is aptly named because given the speed of service you could actually feel yourself ageing and the quality of food reminds me of school food.
Juliet Swatman Seven thirty for Eight Supper Club (4 August 2007)
I chose this restaurant for my supper club for a number of reasons. It is in nice location especially for summer evenings. The French cuisine was a little bit different and a new experience for some of my guests, and it had been tried and tested by one of my customers and given the thumbs up. Oh dear, what a disappointment. The food can only be described as ugly, thrown together with no thought to presentation and combination of flavours. The service from the staff was aggressive with plates and cutlery being thrown down on the side whilst they cleared the tables. Some of the desserts were quite inedible and I should know better than to even consider visiting an establishment with a dessert trolley, it always comes way below par. The only positive was the manager who for me nothing was too much trouble when it came to organising the event, we however will not be going back. This place would benefit from Gordon Ramsay going in and bringing it up to speed on all fronts.

Nando's - South Harrow
With quality food, friendly staff, quick service and excellent value for money, Nando's is a great place to eat. Don't expect identikit, pre-fab restaurant interiors which are usually a staple of the larger chains; each restaurant is tailored to its local surroundings and customers, offering up a unique restaurant experience to go with the equally unique taste of legendary, Portuguese, Peri-Peri chicken.
