Old House at Warren Row, The

Warren Row, a small hamlet with glorious woods, rolling countryside and farmlands, provides beautiful surroundings for The Old House, a traditional English pub. The interior features comfortable sofas, a collection of odd curios and a friendly dog that sometimes doubles up as maitre to create a relaxed, laid back ambience. The food and the hospitality extended by owners Sarah Foley and Tim Smee and the staff have made it popular among regulars.

Among starters try home cured bacon and warm black pudding on a bed of dressed leaves with stilton and creamy spinach soup with warm ciabatta. For main course order steak and kidney pie topped with homemade short crust pastry served with mash and cauliflower cheese and Cumberland sausages with bubble and squeak and onion gravy served in a large Yorkshire pudding. End with a gooseberry and apple crumble with fresh vanilla custard and hot chocolate soufflé with clotted cream.
