Old Tramshed, The Description

Spotted in Bingley Road, close to the World Heritage site Salts Mill and the Leeds-Liverpool canal, is a sassy little bar and brasserie called The Old Tramshed. Serving consistently tasty food bursting with colourful Mediterranean flavours, this place has been popular among locals and visitors alike since its beginnings in 2003. Live bands are another attraction here on Monday nights, while the genres of jazz, rhythm and blues take over every Thursday evening. The place is open only to singles for Sunday dinner and drinks, which gives it an endearingly quirky demeanour, promptly lapped up by locals.

There is a good choice of special deals on the menu and a typical meal could begin with a trio of smoked fish with horseradish crème fraîche, followed by breast of free-range chicken stuffed with smoked ham and gruyere. Alternatively, you could sample fillet of local beef on celeriac puree with wild mushrooms, red wine and veal and conclude with their famous blackcurrant cheesecake with passion fruit sorbet. Service at The Old Tramshed is friendly and welcoming, making it perfect for any occasion. That is of course with the exception of celebrating wedding anniversaries over Sunday drinks!

Your Reviews of Old Tramshed, The

Beverley (19 January 2009)

I just telephoned the venue to book for 25-30 people for 30th January 2009 and was told the price has gone up from the advertised £14.95 for three courses before 7.00pm to £17.95. I’m not happy about this so did not book and they need to update their website.

Michael (9 February 2008)

I recently visited the venue on one of their live entertainment nights. Really nice environment, good music and most importantly a good selection of beers. I'll be back for some food, as it smelt fantastic. I did like the conversion, it's a very open plan with the restaurant on two floors and a central bar - worth the drive.
