Oliver's Restaurant

Ramada Cromwell Stevenage, High Street, Old Town, Stevenage, SG1 3AZ

This 16th century hotel, which was once a farmhouse and home to John Thurloe, secretary to Oliver Cromwell, has now been transformed to a stylish place in a manner befitting its former incarnation while remaining attuned to a modern travellers needs. The in-house Oliver's Restaurant with its wood-panelled walls exudes warmth while the furnishings have a more contemporary look. The menu traverses the globe so you could find duck parfait, and smoked salmon and asparagus alongside char-grilled vegetable kebab and cannelloni filled with mushrooms, spinach, cottage cheese and mascarpone. If grills get you going then Cajun spiced rib eye steak and char grilled barramundi fillet accompanied by a spicy ginger and lime salsa is worth exploring.

REVIEWS OF Oliver's Restaurant

Eljay64 (20 July 2008)

We went to Oliver’s restaurant on my mum and dad's fiftieth wedding anniversary in January. At first glance we thought we had made a big mistake as we were the only people in the restaurant but were very pleasantly surprised later. We were four adults and a child and had an absolutely gorgeous meal; even my ten year old daughter was impressed with her choice from the kids menu. The service was impeccable and the waiter was courteous and polite and made our evening a very enjoyable one. The prices were very reasonable and I would highly recommend a visit.
