Olley's Description

If only all fish and chip restaurants could be this wonderful. If you want the simple but delicious option of classic battered cod, chips and good old fashioned mushy peas then fine that's exactly what you'll get and of a great standard. However, if your tastes are a little more refined you can sample various types of fish in different flavoured batters, or for the more health conscious amongst you try fish steamed with ginger and spring onion accompanied by potatoes and loads of fresh vegetables. Whatever you order at this friendly and efficient place though it's bound to please.

The service was really good from start to finish. It’s unusual these days to find somewhere where the members of staff are pleasant all the time. The food is always excellent there, I know, I’ve been going there for years. This place does make the best chips around; it's true what everyone else says. It's not all hype, but fact. The range of fish available is also amazing, there are some I've never heard of so there's an air of excitement to try something new. It was well worth the trek to Herne Hill. If you have to travel far, go for it.
