One Up Restaurant

This is relaxed dining at its best. One Up Restaurant is on the first floor of the Mad Moose pub on Warwick Street, Norwich and offers a casually comfortable experience where good food and a lovely atmosphere contribute greatly towards making you feel blissful. Local ingredients get transformed into imaginative dishes under the capable hands of head chef Eden Derrick and although the decor suggests a certain level of sophistication, it's really all about having a great time.

Starters from their à la carte might include warm pigeon breast, grilled black figs, brioche croûte and wild mushrooms followed by an excellent main course of pan fried black bream with crushed new potatoes, warm confit fennel, crisp leeks, chorizo sausage and saffron butter sauce. A decadent selection of desserts brings the fine meal to an end; maybe the chilled chocolate espresso with whisky granite and ginger biscotti? The extensive wine list pays homage to European choices although the New World is also given due consideration.
