Orchid Description
Orchid is a relatively new restaurant from Kevin Liu's group, situated in the newly renovated bonded warehouse opposite the Copthorne Hotel in the heart of the dynamic quayside. The affable members of staff offer a warm welcome and their general bonhomie is to be greatly admired, while the setting is easy on the eye with plenty of space.
From an exciting and innovative menu designed by Executive Chef Gary Ko Chun On expect to find Chinese and international fusion cuisine, which lists aromatic duck served with pancakes for starters. Main courses take in king prawns with vegetables and cashew nuts, and chicken with homemade Thai green curry. Beef and pork with a vast choice of sauces from kung po to sweet and sour, along with a range of seafood leave you spoilt for choice.
They offer a VIP room with a projection screen to facilitate business meetings.

It was absolutely fabulous, the food was great but most of all the staff, they were friendly, funny and very efficient and they made our evening very enjoyable. It’s highly recommended and we will be going back. Thanks very much Kevin and gang, from the Morton party on Tuesday.

The first thing that hits you is the tasteful upmarket décor, second only to the very warm welcome from all the staff, particularly the Manager Evan who must be the most accommodating host I have encountered in a long time. I would honestly say the venue is an excellent choice for a range of occasions - from relaxed business lunches, girlie nights or intimate meals. The food is of a high standard and reasonably priced - as are the wines, lagers etc. It’s an ideal venue for Christmas 2008. If you don't see what you want or need - just ask. Nice place, nice people - recommended.
