I celebrated my birthday at this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service. The taste of the food was impressive and reminded me of the days I was travelling around Asia. When walking into the restaurant, I believe seeing an oriental customer at an oriental restaurant is always a good sign. By far the best Chinese restaurant I had in Northamptonshire and definitely recommend it to anyone. Now I'm bringing all my family and friends here to share the experience I had. I have a group of British born Chinese friends from my university days, who introduced me to good traditional Chinese food and have hauled me around a selection of excellent restaurants in both London and Hong Kong. Following all those enjoyable meals, I wanted to share just such an experience with my parents, but London was always too far away. Therefore I was very interested when I stumbled across the details for the Oriental Garden on this site, while searching for somewhere to take my father for a Saturday birthday lunch. We walked through the doors just after 12pm and took it as a good sign that we were the only non-Chinese present. To say that it was a great success is an understatement, and we will definitely be going back.

I am no food critic, and a Chinese gourmet may well disagree, but I thought the food at the Oriental Garden was at least on par with anyplace I had been to with my friends. The service was excellent, not just fast but very helpful as we were trying to make up our minds what to choose from the extensive menu. The large windows give the dining area a light and airy feel, it felt like somewhere you would want to go to dine. The final pleasant surprise was how economically the meal worked out. All Chinese restaurants I have been to have been good value, but this was exceptional. May they continue for a very long time.
