Chef Hai Yan has brought his talent to Essex after owning and operating Chinese restaurants in Shanghai, and each dish he serves at the Orientation is backed by twenty-five years of knowledge and understanding. The popularity of this neat little haven in the Mercury Theatre can be judged from the fact that it's forever full of Chinese students enjoying a delicious meal.

You could pop in for some crabmeat soup, spare ribs or chicken wings before a show or spend longer discussing the show over a fuller meal afterwards. From steamed seafood to sizzling beef, there's something to tempt even the most discerning palate.

Fast food from a fusion menu is complemented by a choice of set meals and signature dishes such as king prawns toss fried with breadcrumbs and toasted garlic to create prawns in sand, and pork hock roasted whole and served with a savoury sauce.
