Orso is the sister restaurant of the famous Joe Allen's and one may assume that it works hard to compete for equal publicity. In fact it has an atmosphere and charm all of its own, so really doesn't need to worry about being left in its sibling's shadow. The interior resembles a setting in Milan in the 1950s with terracotta walls and gentle lighting.

Whilst at the table you could embrace some fresh and fine flavours of Italy, from the extra virgin olive oil and porcini mushrooms to buffalo mozzarella and white truffles. The kitchen also turns out some wonderful dishes like roast veal with tuna sauce and capers, venison steak with cranberries and roast potatoes, and linguine with tiger prawns, garlic, parsley, tomato and white wine. At dessert time, capture the taste of various cheeses in the orange and mascarpone cheesecake with marinated plums, and soft pecorino with pear.
