A dining area replete with closely packed wooden furniture and photographs of luminaries may have well been added over the years, but certain things have not changed, like the tradition of grinding hamburger patties fresh everyday and painstakingly cooking briskets in a hickory smoked barbeque for 18 hours.

Specialty entrees of slow smoked chicken, shrimps and catfish fillets served with cocktail and tartare sauce, and cheddar chop sirloin are served with a choice of two sides. Hickory barbeque platters are worth exploring and there’s one named after a former president, which comes with beef brisket, pork ribs and link sausage. Those impervious to the idea of cooking breakfast over the weekend can pop in to Otto’s for buttermilk biscuits and gravy or the Western scramble.
