Oxford Street Brasserie Description
The Oxford Street Brasserie, located at the corner of Union Street and Oxford Street in Harrogate, is Chef Proprietor David Robson's new baby. Having worked with Michelin starred chef Jeff Baker earlier, he puts his experience and knowledge to work at the brasserie to establish somewhere really different.
The modern design in glass and chrome avoids being stark by balancing it with the warmth of wood and leather. The floor to ceiling windows not only offer a vantage view of the street below but of the restaurant as well. The beautiful glass windows end under a candle lit white ceiling, embellished stylishly by a pattern of large cream swirls.
Creative simplicity seems to be the motif running through the décor, the service and even the menu. This restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner and a special early bird menu for those wishing to grab a quick bite before dinner.
The open kitchen allows the diner to see the bustling but cheerful activity in keeping with the tone of the restaurant.
Imaginative without being pretentious, the Oxford Brasserie offers good British food, complemented by some European offerings. Venison is a house speciality, and they also serve a fine braised pork belly, confit duck leg, goats' cheese soufflé and seared salmon fillet. Other favourites include blackboard butter poached monkfish with crisp asparagus and sage, and roast guinea fowl served with wild rice and parsley puree.
The Oxford Street Brasserie offers an excellent selection of cheese and wines. The list of desserts though slightly short is all homemade. You can choose from blackberry and raspberry sorbets, chocolate almond pudding and blueberry yoghurt pudding amongst other attractive choices.

Your Reviews of Oxford Street Brasserie
Sophie Kramer (12 June 2008)
I've eaten David's food before at his previous restaurant, so was most excited to be dining at his own place. It was fantastic! We had mussels to start with and they are the best I've ever eaten. The signature dish of OSB fish pie was packed full of sea food delights, including king prawns and scallops.
The duck my partner had was melt in the mouth. Highly recommended place to dine in - unpretentious surroundings and truly good food.

It’s absolutely fantastic. There are so many great options and they are all delicious. There’s something for everyone. The waitresses are warm and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a great meal.
