Palace Restaurant, The
505 Main Avenue, Durango, 81301
For avid enthusiasts of outdoor sports, there's no place like Durango if you want to do hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, hunting, fishing, kayaking, rafting and golfing. It's all quite well to work up an appetite because hunger pangs can be satisfactorily taken care of at The Palace Restaurant. This casually elegant, Western style eatery still bears the look of a gold prospector's haven, and everything on their modern menu is prepared fresh, using the best ingredients. Sandwiches, soups and salads are the order of the day for lunch, while dinner begins with mussels steamed in herbed white wine broth, followed by a 12 oz. grilled New York strip steak. Chicken and dumplings served with cranberry compote is a long time favorite and among the delicious desserts, the chocolate bourbon pecan pie is irresistible. For avid enthusiasts of outdoor sports, there's no place like Durango if you want to do hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, hunting, fishing, kayaking, rafting and golfing. REVIEWS OF Palace Restaurant, The

My husband and I have been dining at the Palace for years, well actually a lot of the time I am there with girlfriends enjoying wine or margaritas with some awesome appetizers on the patio. This is a local favourite in Durango but is definitely friendly to the tourists as well. I like that you can choose to dine in the dining rooms and order off of a more elegant and pricier menu or go casual and do burgers and beer in the Tavern which is very reasonably-priced. My new favourite drink - the gingertini. What I have been ordering most often lately - the cheese raviolis. They are so good!
